Park Place Delightful Diversions Program

The Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance in partnership with General Growth Properties and Park Place Mall is announcing a call for performers, artists, musicians, children’s activities and not for profits of all genres to participate in the DELIGHTFUL DIVERSIONS program at the Park Place Mall.  The program will run weekly year round.

DELIGHTFUL DIVERSIONS hopes to create a fun and interactive atmosphere to the Park Place Mall in unique and interesting ways.  SAACA is currently looking for:

Street Performers
Performances can be just about anything that people find entertaining. Entertainers  may do acrobatics, animal tricks, face painting, balloon twisting, card tricks, clowning, comedy, contortions & escapes, dance, juggling, magic, mime and a mime variation where the artist performs as a living statue, puppeteering, storytelling or recite poetry or prose and even street theatre.

Musicians
Seeking professional and amateur musicians to play acoustic music in designated locations both inside and outside the mall.  If you can play guitar, sing a little, or play some other instrument, you might be able to be a street musician. Earn a few bucks. Sharpen your performance skills. Feed your inner rock star.

Artists
Seeking professional and amateur artists for live art demonstrations, including, but not limited to jewelry making, oil and watercolor art, pottery demonstrations, calligraphy, cartoonist, or glass blowing.  Artists are encouraged to bring a few samples of their art for sale, as well as interacting with the crowd to discuss their process through demonstrations.  Artists that specialize in children’s arts and crafts activities are also encouraged to apply.

SAACA and General Growth Properties will be promoting the Series through posters, email, press releases, radio promotions, website, Facebook, Twitter and more.

All applicants will be selected through an application process, which includes a review of performance via application description, and if available, website, video, CD, or live auditions. In addition, all applicants are required to follow the conduct guidelines set forward by the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and General Growth Properties. Additional restrictions require that minors between the age of 15-17 years of age will be allowed to perform without an adult. If younger than 15, an adult must be present. If younger than 18, permit is required to be issued in parent/guardian’s name.
