A COLLABORATIVE ARTS & MAKER SPACE
We are committed to providing a safe and secure facility for all visitors. At a time when the community needs opportunities to begin to connect and gather once again, we know that the CATALYST Arts & Maker Space will be a great place to do just that, both digitally and in small group settings. The CATALYST space will be closed to the general public, which includes all drop-in activities, and larger community gatherings indefinitely. This will include cancellation of our monthly First Friday celebrations, Artisan Markets and Second Saturday events through September. The space is open for private rentals, use of the coworking spaces as well as for use of the digital streaming resources on a reservation basis.
Although our operations of the organization and of the CATALYST will be significantly scaled back, SAACA is committed to making the CATALYST space available in a limited capacity for private events, smaller gatherings under 50 attendees, and reserved group classes. Private rentals and use of the space will be evaluated upon close review on a case-by-case basis, factoring in safety and operational feasibility. The CATALYST Coworking operations will remain functional during this period, as well as partner collaborative use of the space.
If you are interested in reserving the space for classes, workshops and private rentals, please contact Director of Programs, Matt Rolland at matt@saaca.org.
Although the arts have been the very thing that have kept us all connected during the COVID-19 outbreak, it is also an industry that has been decimated and served a heavy blow during this time. Most individual artists are self-employed and rely on monetary streams of revenue that come directly from selling, promoting and presenting their work. SAACA is committed to providing innovative solutions for the future, and hope to begin working directly with artists, makers and creatives to find these creative solutions to rebound and inspiration for the future.

OUR COLLABORATIVE DESIGN PROCESS
The space is supported as a signature Arts & Business Partnership between SAACA and Brookfield Properties at Tucson Mall.
The space is designed in partnership with the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture at Taliesin (SoAT) Dean Chris Lasch, a partner with the New York and Tucson-based firm Aranda/Lasch, which is a leader in “computational architecture,” or the application of the latest tools and theories coming out of computer-assisted design and manufacturing to architecture. |
