FOR VISITORS, TEACHERS, COWORKERS, AND SPACE RENTERS
Last Updated June 2, 2021 At the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance, we make every effort to ensure all attendees, coworkers, venue rentals, and supporters enjoy a positive experience while participating in hosted events, classes, and experiences at the CATALYST Arts and Maker Space at the Tucson Mall.
We encourage all guests and renters to review our policies and guidelines to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience.
CATALYST COVID-19 GUIDELINES
Our guidelines and policies are designed not just to protect our community but to provide a safe environment for every guest or participant in a class or special use of the CATALYST Arts and Maker Space. All guests and renters must comply with CATALYST Arts and Maker Space guidelines and policies. SAACA reserves the right to deny services and access based on the safety and well-being of the community, event participants, and our staff. If you have questions while participating in or attending a program or event at CATALYST, please feel free to inquire with a SAACA staff. We are here to help.
The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance reserves the right to set health and safety policies related to COVID-19, as supported by the State of Arizona Executive Order 2021-6, issued by Governor Douglas A. Ducey on March 25, 2021, which states:
Businesses, whether for-profit or non-profit, institutions, professions or entities that physically operate in the state and serve the public or are employers are encouraged to continue to take actions recommended by the CDC, U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and ADHS to limit and mitigate the spread of COVID-19. ADHS shall update its guidance accordingly. These entities still maintain the right to institute and enforce policies to mitigate against COVID-19 spread, including the use of face coverings and physical distancing, and retain the right to refuse service to those who do not comply with the policies.
The full executive order can be accessed at https://azgovernor.gov/executive-orders
Please note: These policies are subject to change as we see further developments in the COVID-19 pandemic.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
SAACA is grateful for the statewide decline in new COVID-19 cases and the increased availability of vaccines protecting against the coronavirus. Our safety recommendations are in place to keep the health of our staff and visitors the top priority. We are committed to the following guidance set by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local and state governments:
Capacity SAACA will continue to program at a reduced capacity of a maximum of 60% occupancy for the classrooms and common areas for events and rentals within the CATALYST Arts and Maker Space through June 30, 2021.
Masks & Social Distancing Fully vaccinated SAACA volunteers are no longer required to wear masks. SAACA staff will continue to wear face masks when interacting with other coworkers and event renters, and attendees. Private rentals may put in place stricter requirements for their events or classes. The Pima County Health Department and the CDC both state that unvaccinated people should still wear masks when physically distancing from others isn’t possible, and we ask the same of our volunteers and renters. We understand that comfort levels will vary from person to person. Renters and volunteers are welcome to wear a mask if you choose or ask others to either wear a mask or physically distance more than 6 feet when around you. Respect one another’s requests and comply if you are asked to distance from someone or put on a mask if you must come within 6 feet of that person. Renters, teachers hosting a class, and other users of CATALYST reserve the right to require masks to be worn throughout the program but must recognize other meetings and rentals in CATALYST may have attendees not wearing a mask.
Sanitation CATALYST has installed additional hand-sanitizer stations throughout the space and is implementing enhanced cleaning procedures throughout the duration of event rentals, routinely cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces.
Temperature screening SAACA will no longer be providing or requiring temperature screenings at the entrance of CATALYST. We ask that all attendees, participants, volunteers, renters and coworkers self-check and continue to observe all CDC recommendations for individuals feeling ill, have a fever, or show symptoms of COVID.
Exposure/Isolation Staff and volunteers will be required to self-isolate after a period of exposure to a person with a positive COVID-19 test. CATALYST will still follow CDC guidelines regarding other mitigation efforts such as isolation after exposure. We highly encourage program participants to keep this in mind and use extra caution to avoid the risk of being excluded from a class or event for an extended period of time.
Stay home if unwell It remains policy that staff and volunteers are not permitted to report to work if they are experiencing the symptoms associated with coronavirus disease; this is not optional. All staff who may be unwell, feel sick or have a fever are required to stay home and follow CDC and public-health guidance prior to returning to work.
ATTENDING A CLASS OR EVENT
As a nonprofit organization that promotes the participation and engagement in arts and culture for individuals of of all ages and abilities, SAACA is responsible for enacting measures that help ensure the safety of our staff and event participants. While CDC guidelines state that fully vaccinated Americans are no longer required to wear a mask when indoors or outdoors, private businesses may still require patrons to remain masked. This includes private classes, events and summer camps held in CATALYST. Safety requirements for each class are ultimately up to the teacher or business to decide. Please check in with the teacher or event host regarding the safety requirements or your class, event or camp.
Summer camps and children's classes In order to maintain a healthy environment and lower the risk of COVID-19 spread during summercamps and classes for children, this class will follow the latest CDC guidelines set for summercamps and programs for children ages 12 and under. This includes maintaining social distancing of at least 3 feet between all students within a cohort, 6 feet while eating and drinking, and at least 6 feet between students and staff. All students under the age of 12 are required to use well-fitting masks with proper filtration consistently and correctly to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through respiratory droplets.
Teaching Kitchen and Culinary Classes With our new procedures to keep you and your family safe, we ask that you utilize our sanitization station at check-in and wash your hands upon entering the teaching kitchen and continuously throughout your class. We ask that you maintain at least six feet from other guests whenever possible. Unvaccinated guests are encouraged to wear a mask in the Teaching Kitchen except while eating.
