February 24, 2018Tony Martinez Band
Country “Real Country, Real Good.” So goes the tagline for the Phoenix-born, Nashville-based country singer, Tony Martinez. He has shared the stage with many notable artists over the years – opening for Jake Owen on his Days of Gold arena tour, playing pedal steel guitar for J.P. Harris & the Tough Choices on the road, and after a recent move to Nashville, playing regularly at Layla’s Bluegrass Inn and the Full Moon Saloon on Lower Broadway. He has been surrounded by the music since he was a baby, when he used to take naps in his father's guitar case. Martinez wants to bring what he calls "real country music" back, because he believes the country you hear on the radio now, about big trucks and dirt roads, is meaningless. He doesn't want to be considered a traditionalist, because even his own music brings in influences from different genres of music, he believes in bringing back country music that is "good and means something." |

Mason
Blues Rock Mason is a Tucson-based blues rock group with a newly released album, 'Midnight Road'. Featuring the soulful vocals of Jacob Acosta, the modern retro style they've sculpted is reminiscent of rock music of the 60's, with Hendrix-like vocals, bracing guitar solos, Zeppelin-esque drums, and overdriven bass much like Muse or Royal Blood. The 10 original tracks on Midnight Road are all stripped down, short blasts of blue-collar blues, heavy on the rock with some contemporary flash.Vents magazine called their music a "superb reinvention of the genre's power and musicality”. |
