Tucson Premium Outlets Announces the Spring Concert Series Lineup

Tucson Premium Outlets and Southern Arts & Cultural Alliance continue their creative collaboration that brings free, weekly music to Tucson.
Don't miss some of Southern Arizona's finest local musicians at Tucson Premium Outlets this Spring. A creative collaboration between Tucson Premium Outlets and the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance, the family-friendly concerts bring opportunities for local musicians to showcase their talents to the community. 

The popular free concert series, held every Saturday evening, will feature a variety of weekly performances from local musicians and bands. The concerts will be held each Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Mountain Court at Tucson Premium Outlets. Coupled with delicious food from Market Hall and over 70 stores offering extraordinary savings, the evenings provide the perfect outing for the whole family. 

"Community is a cornerstone of our philosophy at Tucson Premium Outlets," said Elyse Munger, Director of Marketing and Business Development. "The concert series is a weekly event the whole family can enjoy, and we are proud to provide this regular opportunity to support local talent."

Heart & Soul 
Pop / Soul 
Heart & Soul performs music that feels good, grooves hard, and keeps audiences dancing and singing. Their music ranges from current Top 40 songs to funky, soulful renditions of contemporary blues, rock, and pop material. Fronted by Gary Roberts and EJ Loveres, Heart and Soul features vocals that are sweet, expressive and soulful, often drawing comparisons to Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson.  

January 13
Jim Howell Band 
Americana / Country  
Fronted by a versatile, multi-instrumentalist performer and singer-songwriter, the Jim Howell Band performs a captivating blend of Arizona and Texas flavored country mixed with the powerful zest of rock and soul. The band’s sonic road-trips carry audiences from the deserts of their native Tucson to the pulsing beats of Memphis, Motown, Nashville, Bakersfield, New Orleans, and Austin.Jim Howell ably drives the band on guitar, harmonica and lead vocals. Throughout his career, Jim has supported many award-winning acts as a multi-instrumentalist sideman, including such regional, national and international touring acts as REY, The Mission Creeps, The Wyatts, Rich Hopkins & Luminarios, and Truck.

What's the Big Idea 
Progressive Jazz 
What's The Big Idea is Phoenix's funkiest jazz trio featuring David Drew (drums), Josh Kneisel (bass), and Michael Kleinschmidt (piano). With a new album "Margin + Growth" released in 2017, this innovative trio performs a traditional jazz repertoire while also bringing modern music from the likes of Radiohead & Pink Floyd into the jazz format.

People Who Could Fly 
Indie Pop / Rock 
People Who Could Fly is an indie pop band formed in 2013 and based in Phoenix, AZ. The group’s style draws influence from acts such as Walk the Moon, the 1975, Cage the Elephant and Two Door Cinema Club. People Who Could Fly has performed with national acts including Rick Springfield, Howard Jones, Roger Clyne, and Reel Big Fish and also provided entertainment for the Arizona Cardinals (NFL) in 2016. Their album “Neon Electric” was produced by Grammy-winner Robb Vallier (Gin Blossoms, Foo Fighters, Miranda Lambert).

With a charismatic stage presence reminiscent of the quintessential 1970s rock bands, Jack is backed by his brother Nate on drums, a phenom whose skills far exceed his young age; and guitarists Dylan Welker and Anthony Airdo.  Sunday at Noon writes and performs high energy pure rock music with the goal of connecting with fans on a personal level and sharing their belief that there isn’t a situation in life that music can’t fix. They draw inspiration from Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, and Queens of the Stone Age. Their sound is a unique blend of youthful exuberance, impressive classic guitar riffs, and richly expressive vocals.

Little House of Funk 
Funk, R&B and Blues  
Little House of Funk welcomes you to their open-door groove-house reverberating with Sonoran Soul and deep-fried blues. Fronted by charismatic singer Connie "Mama" Brannock, they play a high-spirited blend of funky, groove-oriented R&B, Jazz, and Soul. Their shows have been called “WD-40 for the hips” and they will keep the dance floor full and the audience smiling. 
 
February 24
The Dust Devils 
Kick up your boots with Tucson's rising bluegrass favorites, The Dust Devils. Featuring the rich tenor vocals of David VanGelder and three part harmony singing, The Dust Devils perform a mix of original music, driving bluegrass classics, and familiar songs from Merle Haggard, Billy Joe Shaver, and the Eagles.

Good Question 
Rock & Country  
Good Question is a classic rock, rhythm & blues, and country music cover band showcasing four-part male harmony singing and a solid drive. With songs ranging from George Strait, the Rascals, and Jimmy Buffet to the Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, and the Rolling Stones, Good Question's live show is sure to delight fans with their versatility and variety of beloved songs. Winner of the 2011 Harley Davidson Battle of the Bands, Good Question is one of the most in-demand live bands in Tucson.

Peter Dalton Ronstadt y Los Tucsonenses 
Folk/Roots/Americana 
Peter Dalton Ronstadt Y Los Tucsonenses, led by multi-instrumentalist Peter Dalton Ronstadt, perform innovative original material combined with a fresh take on traditional Southwestern and Mexican folk songs to audiences young and seasoned discovering the treasure of roots music. This musical journey will take you from the past to the present steeped in the deep Americana vein, carrying forward a sound rooted in the Ronstadt legacy of Peter’s aunt, Linda, his father, Michael, and great grandfather Federico Jose Maria Ronstadt. Featuring a talented cadre of performers on guitars, saxophone, banjo, and accordion, Peter Dalton Ronstadt fronts this dynamic group as a writer, interpreter of song, and post-modern American songster proudly from the Southwest.

County Line is a five-piece country rock band that plays all your favorite Top 40 country hits and more. With a new album set for release in 2018, they will be a featured performer at the 2018 Tucson Country Fest during Rodeo weekend following up on their popular performances at the Fox Theater, Pima County Fair, and Sahuarita Lake Concert Series. County Line will keep the dance floor full and party rocking as they share their love of music and good times with fans.

Vinyl Tap is a six-piece Classic Rock band featuring groovy renditions of timeless radio hits and masterful five-part harmony singing. Recreating the golden years of the vinyl record – the 1960's, '70s and '80s -  Tucson's own Vinyl Tap plays all the favorites from bands like Steppenwolf, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, Van Morrison Bad Company and more. Vinyl Tap will certainly have you singing and dancing along to all your favorite hits!

Mason is a Tucson-based blues rock group with a newly released album, 'Midnight Road'. Featuring the soulful vocals of Jacob Acosta, the modern retro style they've sculpted is reminiscent of rock music of the 60's, with Hendrix-like vocals, bracing guitar solos, Zeppelin-esque drums, and overdriven bass much like Muse or Royal Blood. The 10 original tracks on Midnight Road are all stripped down, short blasts of blue-collar blues, heavy on the rock with some contemporary flash. Vents magazine called their music a "superb reinvention of the genre's power and musicality”.

Little House of Funk

Celebrate the holidays in style at Phoenix Premium Outlets as they host local bands performing holiday classics. Every Saturday night in December, you can enjoy free music as part of the fall concert series. Immediately following each show, the bands will pose for photos at the photo booth!

Presented by Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance, the free weekly performances will take place Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Arroyo Court at Phoenix Premium Outlets. Coupled with delicious food from Market Hall and over 70 stores offering extraordinary savings, the evenings provide the perfect outing for the whole family. 

The concerts are a creative collaboration between Phoenix Premium Outlets and the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance, bringing opportunities for local musicians to showcase their talents to the community, and new arts and business partnerships in new and innovative ways.  

Phoenix Premium Outlets Concert Series Lineup – December 2017:
 
December 2 - April Anne is originally from Boston, MA but has called Arizona home since 1990. April has been writing music and poetry since she could put a pen to paper. April released her first full length studio album in February 2017. She will be performing a mix of pop, country covers and folksy holiday classics.
 
December 9 –Sunday at Noon is a raucous four piece rock band hailing from Phoenix, AZ led by Jack VanDerPol, who has a charismatic stage presence that is reminiscent of the quintessential front men of 1970s rock bands. Formed in 2015, Sunday at Noon instantly became a local fan favorite and distinguished itself as a noteworthy member of the vibrant Phoenix music community. They are excited to perform some rockin’ holiday songs on December 9th!
 
December 16 –Chicago-based singer-songwriter Laura Joy has been known to quell dark, angry bars full of ornery old Irishmen. ‘Tis the Season, she’ll work in a smattering of Holiday Cheer into her performance to get you in the spirit!
 
December 23 –Greg Spivey has been entertaining Southern Arizonans for years. His current four-piece ensemble, Greg Spivey Band, is one of the most sought after groups in Tucson, AZ and surrounding areas. With a mix of current, and older Country, some classic Rock & Roll thrown in and twangy Christmas tunes, you are guaranteed to have a great time!
 
December 30 – Come Back Buddy is 3-piece rock-n-roll band inspired by the legendary "Buddy Holly and the Crickets."  The trio's repertoire includes the music of many artists from the 50's era including Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Ricky Nelson, and of course, Buddy Holly.
