Have some fun and get creative with Art Mixer, a unique Tucson paint and sip experience. Public and private paint events and classes are available with no minimum number of participants. Just pick a project and schedule a date and time to paint. Attendees can choose step-by-step painting projects on canvas, wood board, wood cutouts, wine glasses, wine bottles and paint-and-take ceramics! Hernan Castro, whose business The Desert Alchemist invites the public to learn more about mushrooms - from identification to cultivation - will guide us through an easy at-home set up to grow mushrooms. Additionally, you'll have an opportunity to learn about forest health and the value of the White Mountains and the Blue Range Primitive area of Arizona - where many mushrooms flourish in the summer months. Our goal is expand our network and to create a space for individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities who are interested in the film industry to connect with each other, share experiences, and learn from one another. We'll also be giving a short presentation on diversity in film called 'Telling All the Stories: The Importance of Representation in Film'. |

Give your child the gift of creative expression this summer! Join us for 5 days and learn a variety of 2D and 3D art techniques. This year we will also be offering more advanced lessons for students who have participated previously. We will be creating painted game boards with ceramic game pieces, collages, a collaborative weaving project and will practice advanced watercoloring techniques. Lessons will be tiered so that beginning through experienced young artists will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and expand the ones they already have. Students will have the opportunity to reflect on their artwork by composing artist statements and displaying their work in an art show for families on the last day of class. Students will participate in the complete artist experience in this summer camp through the processes of design, production, reflection and display of their work. Please note the age of your child at the time of registration so the instructor can plan accordingly.

Tickets to the Ignite the Possibilities: A Collective Celebration event are $40 and include food and beverage sampling, live performances by partnering organizations, visual art on display from CATALYST artists in residence programs, and interactive educational activities from the Waters Center for Systems Thinking. All monies raised will go directly to supporting the operations and mission of CATALYST. |

The lineup includes Butch Lord, Jan Brenner, Suzie Sexton, Gene Moore, and headliner Monique Marvez. Plus an original dance performance by Esperanza Dance Project. |

2pm - 6pm CATALYST is partnering with Tucson Youth Music to bring free weekly music lessons for underserved families in the community! Tucson Youth Music (TYM) provides comprehensive weekly free music lessons to teach students how to play a musical instrument as well as, proper technique, repertoire, sight-reading, music theory, ear training, performance, and music appreciation. All necessary materials are provided to qualifying school-age children, ages 6 - 18. TYM music teachers are an extraordinary group of musicians who bring compassion and understanding to the life transforming power of music education.
