The Town of Oro Valley and the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance have partnered to bring classical music to residents since 1997. The Oro Valley Riverfront Park Classical Concert Series supports some of the finest classically trained musicians with the opportunity to perform monthly in the community’s largest outdoor amphitheater.
Concerts begin at 4PM outdoors at the grass amphitheater of Riverfront Park in Oro Valley. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs. Food will be available for purchase from food trucks onsite. Why?The series is anticipated to draw hundreds of attendees monthly back to the Riverfront Park to experience classical music at the base of the majestic Pusch View Mountains, a setting like no other in Southern Arizona. In a partnership with the Town of Oro Valley, this program impacts economic development, while providing community exposure to the arts, and supporting local musicians.

Attendees are invited to bring their own chairs. No seating is provided. There is no cost to attend the concerts. Concerts are approximately 80-90 minutes in length. Concerts are located at the Riverfront Park Outdoor Grass Amphitheater.

Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra Classical Symphonic Music The Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra kicks off the Riverfront Classical Concert Series with a special performance showcasing their 2019-2020 season. They include a sneak preview of their March concert, “Tchaikovsky and a Painter”, as well as beloved and recognizable movements by Beethoven, Dvorak, and Johann Strauss. Founded in 1979, the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra is a vital community resource that unites performers and audiences through a passion for music. The orchestra presents world premieres, seldom-performed treasures and classical gems. Desert Winds Steel Orchestra Steel Pans What started as an 8 member band back in the fall of 1997, the DESERT WINDS STEEL ORCHESTRA has now grown to 15+ members who have discovered the joy of music making in an ensemble setting. This diverse group of members has not only grown in numbers, but in skill at a remarkable rate. Their repertoire includes Latin and pop songs and an array of island tunes that will create an atmosphere of pure joy regardless of the setting in which they are playing. Having already produced five CD’s, their newest release entitled “Sweeter On Steel” is now available. Their appeal to audiences of all ages led them to be repeatedly invited to perform at Cricket Pavilion to entertain the crowd of party-goers prior to performances by the immensely popular Jimmy Buffett. The Santa Cruz Summer Winds rehearses out of the University of Arizona - Fred Fox School of Music, and receives non-monetary patronage from the Fred Fox School of Music.
