ORO VALLEY CONCERTS ONLINEEvery Thursday, May 7 - June 45 PMThe Town of Oro Valley and the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance have partnered to bring live music to residents for over 20 years. SAACA is pleased to announce the launch of Oro Valley Concerts Online, a month of weekly free, online streamed concerts with performances ranging from Bluegrass, Bach, Bassoon ensembles, to Boogie Woogie. The concert series truly has something for every taste of music. Every Thursday at 5 PM from May 7 – June 4, residents can tune in to see live performances of some of Tucson’s beloved classical and contemporary performers .Concerts will each be 60 - 90 minutes in length. After the broadcast, a video of the concert will remain available to view on SAACA's concert webpage and Youtube Channel.
Why?As a core creative placemaking effort, the Oro Valley Online Concerts series provides a meaningful performance opportunity for artists while allowing a new and creative way for residents to engage with the arts and one another. The series draws hundreds of attendees weekly to the live streamed broadcasts, providing human-to-human connection in a time characterized by social distancing. In a partnership with the Town of Oro Valley, this program impacts economic development, while providing community exposure to the arts, and supporting local musicians.

Mr.Boogie Woogie (aka) Eric-Jan Overbeek was born on April 5, 1967 in Nieuw Vennep, the Netherlands. Mesmerized by that old piano in the living room, Eric-Jan began studying classical piano at the age of eight. During his 30 year career he has opened the stage for international giants of blues like Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Johnny Copeland, Van Morrison, Koko Taylor, Magic Slim and the Teardrops and even The Blues Brothers Band. Alexander Tentser and Anna Gendler Classical Piano and Violin Tune in here: https://www.facebook.com/SAACA/live/ Classical pianist Alexander Tentser and his wife, Anna Gendler, a violinist with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, will perform classical and romantic works by Mozart, Schumann, Mendelssohn and Chopin. A native of Kiev, Ukraine, Tentser studied at the Gnesin Music College in Moscow — the oldest music college in Russia — and the Russian Academy of Music. Since coming to the United States in 1990, he has performed with New York Philharmonic violinist Anna Rabinova and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. He received a doctorate from the University of Arizona and now teaches music at Pima Community College and directs its orchestra. Born in Russia, Anna Gendler received her musical education at the celebrated Moscow Conservatory and began her tenure with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra in 1991. She is a faculty member at Pima Community College and has served as a teaching artist for numerous groups, including the OMA (Opening Minds Through Arts) Foundation and the Symphony Women’s Association. Anna is also a member of the Grammy nominated True Concord Voices and Orchestra. They take their act to festivals, clubs and theatres around the world and are known for creating an atmosphere of intimacy with their humor and joyful interactions with the audience. Recent performances include the Thredbo Blues Festival in Australia; Fenn Valley Vineyards and Box Factory for the Arts, Michigan; Yardbird Suite in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Blues in Bisbee and Tucson Folk Festivals, Arizona; Yoshi's in California; and the Lucerne Festival in Switzerland.
