SAACA Announces 2017 Arts Programming

Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance will present a variety of arts programming in 2017, featuring performing and visual arts for all ages
(TUCSON, Ariz.) - From browsing handmade artwork, enjoying the sounds of some of Southern Arizona's most popular musicians, indulging in culinary delights, and inspiring young minds, the 2017 Arts Programming presented by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance kicks off the new year offering art forms for all ages.
 
Tucson Premium Outlets Concert Series
Offering live music to Southern Arizona each and every week. The Tucson Premium Outlets Concert Series supports local musicians with the opportunity to perform weekly in the community's largest and only outlet shopping center.  The series supports a range in music genres, from country to rock and jazz to classical. 
       When: Weekly, Saturdays, January - April 2017 | 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
       Where: Tucson Premium Outlets, Mountain Courtyard, 6401 Marana Center Blvd,                         Tucson, AZ 85742

Monark Great Chefs Series - The Sweet Experience
This sweet experience will take attendees on a sublime sugar high, featuring local bakers, chefs and culinary artisans showcasing their secret tricks of the trade.  Learn more about how dessert is breaking new boundaries on our traditional ideas of dessert as we have known it in the past.

La Encantada Fine Art Festival
From metalwork to locally-designed fashion, the La Encantada Fine Art Festival is sure to be a visual surprise for all ages. The majestic garden courtyard of La Encantada stages the visual fine art festival, featuring the finest artwork in Southern Arizona and captivating performances set in breath-taking mountain views as attendees browse extraordinary art in all forms.

SAVOR Southern Arizona Food & Wine Festival
Tucson's culinary prestige and slow food movement has been growing each year, and now is the time to SAVOR. Indulge in the flavors of Southern Arizona's culinary arts at the 4th Annual Southern Arizona Food and Wine Festival surrounded by the colorful floral blooms at the Tucson Botanical Gardens.

Cruise: BBQ & Blues Classic Car Show
Blending science, mechanics and design is an innovative art form in its own right. Car design is a ubiquitous but often overlooked art form which SAACA brings to light through our annual Classic Car Show.

Spring Festival of the Arts
The Spring Festival of the Arts has become one the largest regional art events in Southern Arizona in a matter of years at the largest outdoor shopping center in the region.  Held twice annually, this two-day festival features up to 150 artists and exhibitors in all mediums, live strolling performances, food vendors and family arts activities.
      When: February 25 & 26, 2017, Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 10am-4pm

Musical Magic for Kids
Listen, Laugh, Dance and Sing!  Each month, children can enjoy interactive performances through the youth arts based interactive music and dance series Just for Kids and Musical Magic for Kids.

Oro Valley Concert Series

Kate Marquez Elected to Americans for the Arts’ Private Sector Advisory Council

Kate Marquez, Executive Director of the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance, will advise the Americans for the Arts Private Sector Council 
(TUCSON, Ariz.) — Members of Americans for the Arts, the leading organization for advancing the arts and arts education in America, have elected Kate Marquez as a member of their Advisory Council for the Private Sector Council. Mrs. Marquez will advise Americans for the Arts’ staff on developing programs and services that will build a deeper connection to the field and the network membership.

In the Private Sector Council, Marquez will work with fellow arts leaders to develop and implement private-sector advocacy programs and serve as leaders to other local arts agencies seeking to connect with the private sector.  The Private Sector Council is an advisory group charged with helping Americans for the Arts develop and implement private sector advocacy programs, and to serve as leaders to other local arts agencies seeking to connect with the private sector.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - ​The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance (SAACA) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
 
Each year, #GivingTuesday is held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday in an effort to kick off the holiday giving season and to unite people in a day of generosity, inspiring them to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
