Kate Marquez, Executive Director of the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance, will advise the Americans for the Arts Private Sector Council
Kate Marquez is the Executive Director of the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance (SAACA). SAACA’s mission is the dedication to the preservation, advancement and creation of the Arts. During her ten years with the nonprofit organization, Kate successfully spearheaded the expansion of the organization into a regional arts alliance. In addition, Marquez is the founding Director of the Southern Arizona Business Committee for the Arts, a key programming effort of SAACA which seeks to create and expand impactful partnerships between the business sector and our creative communities, while providing businesses and employees with a competitive advantage. She currently directs the organization and is responsible for overall agency direction, programming, fundraising, advocacy and management of external relationships and collaborations.

Potential council members were nominated in mid-September and were voted on by members of Americans for the Arts through November 14, 2016. Marquez will serve a three-year term, from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019. “I am honored to serve as a new member of the Americans for the Arts Private Sector Advisory Council, and to represent my community in this extraordinarily impactful and dynamic way” says Executive Director, Kate Marquez. “I personally have been moved by the immense impact I have witnessed the Arts play in developing innovative and creative communities in Southern Arizona, and specifically the businesses who have implemented these strategies into their operating model in such dynamic ways.” “My hope is that my service on the private Sector Council will bring additional resources and knowledge back to help continue to expand our community as a leader in business and arts integration strategies.”
