Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance collaborates with Roche Tissue Diagnostics, known locally Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. (Ventana) to present Art in Oro Valley. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Art exists in time as well as space. Time implies change and movement; movement implies the passage of time. ‘Movement and Motion’ highlights a wide range of artistic voices presenting work that celebrates the world of dance, movement, interactions and abstract explorations of motion, rhythm, and atmosphere. Movement and time, whether actual or an illusion, are crucial elements in every piece of artwork. This exhibition presents prints, drawings, paintings, and photographs that celebrate the world, including lively imagery of dynamics, gesture, flow, oscillation in nature and abstract explorations of motion, rhythm, and atmosphere. All of the featured artists highlight the exceptional local talent in the Oro Valley area. Exhibiting Artists include: Joyce Andre, Sue Maki, Mary Bourret, Jan Mayer, David Chakmakian, Fran McNeely, Jo Ann Daly, Danilo Faria, Kay Mitman, Ted Fleming, Nancy Norton, Laurie Giangregorio, Lorrie Parsell, Susie Gillatt, Megan Peccarelli, Marva Harvey, Adriana Racolta, Diane Haug, Peggy Rubin, Jim Holbert, Karen Samson, Jim Holbert, Ernesto Trujillo, Helen Jennette, Karen Wright, Robert Jennette, Judy Wyner, and Patricia Lewis.
On Thursday, October 20 from 5 to 7 p.m., the exhibit will be revealed for an opening reception with refreshments and live acoustic music at Roche Tissue Diagnostics (Ventana), 1910 E. Innovation Park Dr. The artwork will be showcased and sold at the Ventana Gallery, and the public is welcome to browse or buy during the length of the exhibit, continuing through January 2017. The Ventana Gallery is open to the public, by appointment, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on the first and third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To schedule an appointment, visitors should call the SAACA at (520) 797-3959.
