A new partnership between the Town of Sahuarita and Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance brings exciting new creative arts festivals and opportunities to Southern Arizona In less than three weeks, a new family-friendly, community celebration will kick off in the Town of Sahuarita in honor of the town's 25th anniversary.
On Friday, May 3, Sabrosita Sahuarita will highlight the diversity of Mexican culture, cuisine and entertainment in the region with hearty samples from over 15 local restaurants, main stage music and dance entertainment, classic cars, artisan vendors, agave libations, interactive activities, and arts displays. The event is set to fill the Quail Creek Veterans Municipal Park with hundreds of guests and will even host a featured film screening of the documentary Agave: The Spirit of a Nation. Sabrosita Sahuarita is just the first of many upcoming community festivals set to debut in the town thanks to an exciting new partnership between the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and the Town of Sahuarita. From public art installations to chalk art festivals to culinary and music celebrations, the partnership will bring the arts center stage throughout Sahuarita. Sabrosita Sahuarita will feature art from sculptural artists Ezequiel Leoni and Monsoon Collective, in addition to art being sold by Julian Soncco and Sol Design Studio. Guests can also enjoy live mariachi and Ballet Folklorico performances on the main stage, as well as other wandering musical performances. The feature length documentary Agave: The Spirit of a Nation begins at 7:30 PM in the adjacent field. A variety of seating in the field will be provided including Monsoon Collective's signature giant barrel cactus shaped cushion seats. Tickets are on sale now for Sabrosita Sahuarita 2019 and are available for purchase atwww.saaca.org/sabrosita. General Admission tickets are only $25 and include up to 15 food samples from participating chefs and restaurants, access to all live concerts and art activities, as well as admission to the film screening. Guests are also welcome to upgrade their ticket to include libations tastings for an extra $10 (21 and over) to sample an a collection of local spirits, wines and beers.
