Join Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance for a creative, culinary-inspired dessert fundraiser to support therapeutic arts programs, Nov. 18 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in the Tucson Foothills. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Over 25 local pastry chefs, restaurants, mixology masters and bakers will show off their sweet side to compete in Southern Arizona's largest dessert competition on Friday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. Now in its fourth year, the sugary event returns to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N. Resort Dr. A treat for the eyes with its beautiful mountain views, the resort features a charming indoor and outdoor location to present the rows of baked, chilled and frosted decadence. Sweet Charity whips up more than 50 desserts, cocktail and wine samplings, raffle and entertainment, presented by Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance.
Attendees can sample a parade of pastries, cocktails and beer and vote on their favorite recipes in an all people’s choice competition. Categories of awards will highlight the diversity found in desserts, including: Grand Prize - Sweetest of the Sweet, Best Presentation, Most Creative Dessert, Best Baked, Best Candy (Sugar Sweet), Best Chilled Dessert, Best Chocolate Dessert, and Best Cookie Bite, Best Frozen, Best Fruit, Best Sweet & Salty, Best Creative Cocktail, and Best Sweet Cocktail. Tickets are $45 per person with proceeds supporting SAACA’s Creative Arts Therapy Program for veterans and assisted living and retirement communities.
