The Second Annual Taste the 23 Week Returns with Even More Ways to Save on the Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food

6/11/2019

Presented by the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance & Visit Tucson, Taste the 23 Week offers foodies the opportunity to sample the best dishes of local restaurants at special, fixed prices
For the second year, the public is invited to join a week-long celebration of Visit Tucson’s Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food by enjoying an array of can’t-miss deals at participating local restaurants. From June 16th to June 22nd, the week immediately following the Tucson 23 Mexican Food Festival, the Tucson 23 restaurants will offer specials celebrating the amazing culinary assets in Southern Arizona. Specials range from gourmet snacks and appetizers for only $2.30 to two complete diners for only $23.

"I think it’s important for people to take opportunities to explore their own community whether you're delving into something new or revisiting somewhere you haven’t been in a while," explains Visit Tucson's Director of Communications, Dan Gibson. "I spend a lot of time thinking about Mexican food in Tucson, but at times, even I take it for granted. We have such incredible options here, reflecting our unique borderlands culture in the Sonoran Desert, and the restaurants participating in Taste the 23 Week and the Tucson 23 Mexican Food Festival deserve to be appreciated and enjoyed. "

What is The Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food? It's an adventure of incredible food and a wide array of dining options, from fine to funky. We'll go ahead and say it; you won't find better Mexican food anywhere north of the border and we stand by this claim! If you love Mexican food and you haven't eaten in Tucson, you haven't tasted the whole story. From moles to raspados, over 100 restaurants are included in The Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food and each one is worth chowing down at for breakfast, lunch or diner.

To ensure attendees get the most out of Taste the 23 Week, the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA) has partnered with Yelp to develop a fun and easy way to keep track of all the deals available throughout the week. Using Yelp's new Bookmark feature, diners can easily navigate the available deals, leave a review for their favorite Taste the 23 Week restaurant, and upload photos of their favorite dishes There’s no better way to explore the Best 23 Miles of Mexican Food North of the Border!
